Pashadelic is a social app designed for landscape photographers, fostering connections, sharing valuable information about specific locations, and providing inspiration to the photography community.
Overview
For the initial product, Pashadelic featured a straightforward user flow where users could browse a list of inspirational photos, click on one for more details, but faced a challenge with high drop-offs at this stage. The objective was to enhance session duration.
Understand Users
To craft an effective solution, we enhanced our understanding of personas through qualitative user interviews.
The main insight gained from these interviews was understanding how our users seek local information and value the engagement with the landscape photography community.
Mapping the user journey revealed gaps in our support for two critical phases: research and take photo.
Traveling for landscape photography can involve significant investment, and unpredictable factors like weather can impact the experience. To maximize their trip, photographers seek information on multiple locations near their destination.
In addition to that, since landscape photographers are community-oriented and eager to connect with others who share their passion, the option to connect with local photographers emerged as a highly desirable feature.
Solutions
Three pivotal solutions were designed in this newly established product experience:

Map and Additional Locations: Placing the map as a central component enhances the search experience, presenting additional locations for outstanding landscape photography to assist users in maximizing their travel investment.

Travel Tips Information: Facilitating travel planning by offering insights into the optimal times to visit specific locations, recognizing the significance of natural conditions in landscape photography.

Community and Local Connections: Providing an avenue for users to connect with local photographers, fostering a sense of community within the platform.
Outcome
Following the introduction of this new page, we reinforced the user journey, manifesting in a substantial increase in session duration from approximately 1 minute to well beyond 3 minutes accompanied by a remarkable about 35% rise in the number of returning users.
